Ok, so I slid windows over to the side a little and installed Ubuntu on my laptop (low end).
First thing, Ubuntu never asked me for a ROOT password? never made me put one in??
Ok, find user manager and FIX that in a hurry.
Second thing - it does not have a native Terminal already on the menu. I had to go through available packages and Get/Install one. Maybe there is one already there, but it's not on the menu.
Compiz - Love this desktop addition, wish it had instructions. The 3D view is Very "Eye Candy" Goodness.
Winehq really needs to rethink their site format, it's hard to really get started when you're just looking for the "Wine for Dummy's" instructions. Sure it tells you where to DL the latest files, then it says "and then configure it however you like! Have a nice day! :)"
Well, I got some Great info about it off Wowwiki http://www.wowwiki.com/Linux/Wine
that link is what I needed, almost
I got wow running at a whopping 6.7 FPS
I think for to get the total flow of it all I'm going to need to format the hard drive and start over. Messy install = messy usability. But so far, it's looking like I will be able to bump windows and just use linux for everything. But still there be some tweeking to do. Will try to fill my notebook with the changes I make.
